Can I get a book or thesis from another library?

If our library doesn’t have the reading materials you’re looking for, we might be able to borrow it from a different library.

We recommend checking Michigan eLibrary (MeL) first. This service connects several libraries across Michigan for free access to eligible items, such as books and movies. MeL uses your university credentials and even shows borrowed items directly in Your Library Account. You can learn more about MeL from their FAQ Page.

We also provide Document Delivery (DocDel). This service connects several libraries across the country for paid access to eligible items, such as books and theses. DocDel uses a different program, so you’ll need to create an account. You can learn more about DocDel from our Policies Page and Resource Market Page.

Be sure to pay attention to due dates from MeL and DocDel. The other libraries set their own due dates and overdue fines. We often can’t adjust those, and we don’t want your library account blocked or your student account impacted.
