We are able to offer extended loan periods on GVSU materials because we also make them requestable by other users who may need them while they are loaned out.
If you receive a message saying your item has been "recalled" and that you have a new due date, this means that another library user has requested the item. In order to best support you and the other library user, your new due date gets set for 10 days after the request. You will not be able to renew the item during this time. If you still have the item after 10 days, you will be charged a $1 fine each day until it is returned.
If you still need the recalled item, don't worry! While you are unable to renew it, we can help find a replacement for you through MeL.
